PSAQ Committee of Management Election

The Electoral Commission of Queensland has invited nominations for election to the PSAQ Committee of Management.

Nominations open on Monday, 1 March 2004. Candidates for election must be financial members of at least 12 continuous months standing at the close of nominations, provided that candidates for the position of President must be financial Members of at least two (2) continuous years standing at the close of nominations.

Candidates must be nominated in writing by at least two (2) other members of the Association who are financial at the close of nominations. Nominations must be signed by and contain the addresses of those making the nominations, countersigned by the person being nominated and reach the Electoral Commission of Queensland no later than 5.00 PM on Tuesday, 30 March 2004.

Nomination forms are also available from the PSAQ office, the Electoral Commission and the Commission’s website (www.ecq.qld.gov.au). Any form of nomination that complies with the PSAQ’s rules is acceptable.

Candidates may withdraw their consent to a nomination at any time before midday on the day fixed for closing nominations by delivering a written notice to that effect to the Electoral Commission of Queensland.

Each candidate may give the following information in concise form to the Electoral Commission before nominations close - full name, including any nicknames or familiar names; work history in summary form; and history with the PSAQ or any other Association, including length of membership and positions held. The Electoral Commission will print the details provided by candidates and distribute them with the ballot papers.

Nominations close at 5.00 p.m. on Tuesday, 30 March 2004.
